Welcome to Shelburne Association Supporting Inclusion (SASI)
Shelburne Association Supporting Inclusion is an organization that is committed to providing quality, person-centred programs to benefit individuals with disabilities and mental health difficulties. Our mission statement that we strive to live each and every day is “working with persons with disabilities to improve the quality of their lives”. This may seem straightforward and one would think that we are not the only ones doing this and that is the case to a point. The thing that makes us different is that we actively involve the individuals in our programs in everything that we do. We support them to advocate for themselves and we support and encourage families of the individuals in our programs to be actively involved in the lives of their family member and to participate in all activities of our association. We believe that we first and foremost, are accountable to the individuals and their families who have entrusted us with the opportunity to support them in learning skills so that they can become more independent and live full, quality lives.
We believe that we must be transparent and accountable in all that we do and we are committed to working with our communities to ensure that we provide the supports and services that folks in our communities need. We also strive to provide these programs in such a way as to make the best use of monies available and we recognize that in order for individuals to grow and for inclusion to be fully realized we must incorporate many natural, unpaid supports into the lives of the individuals with whom we work. Our organization has a long history of providing supports and over time, these supports have evolved into programs that we are very proud of.
